OUR MISSION

The mission of NACRM is to strengthen the leadership, skills, effectiveness, and efficiency of ranch foremen and ranch managers, enabling them to enrich the quality of land stewardship in the American West and enhancing the productivity of agricultural working landscapes for the benefit of the general public.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

NACRM is incorporated in the state of Montana as a non-profit, member-based organization. It will be filing an application with the Internal Revenue Service to obtain tax exempt status under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

NACRM is governed by a board of directors, which initially includes:

  • William L. Bryan, Chairman - Executive Director, Rural Landscape Institute, Bozeman, Montana
  • Jim Peterson, Vice Chairman - Montana State Senator, Helena, Montana
  • Steve Pilcher, Secretary - Rancher, Helena, Montana
  • Scott Hibbard, Treasurer - Rancher, Sieben Land & Livestock Co., Helena, Montana
  • Hannibal Anderson - Rancher, Emigrant, Montana; Superintendent of Schools, Livingston, Montana

SERVICES

When fully operational, NACRM intends to provide the following services to its members and the general public:

  • Standards - Establish and maintain professional standards in the field of agricultural land management.
  • Certification - Use these standards to accredit qualifying individuals as Certified Ranch Managers (CRM).
  • Education - Provide ongoing professional development programs to ranch managers.
  • Information - Host an online library of resources pertinent to the responsible management of agricultural lands in the 21st Century.
  • Job Placement - Maintain a directory of Certified Ranch Managers.
  • Public Relations - Promote the importance and relevance of Certified Ranch Managers to the agricultural industry and general public.

FUNDING

Start-up funding for NACRM was provided through the Rural Landscape Institute by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (Montana) and contributing individuals and organizations. Ongoing funding will be provided by membership dues and contributions from individuals and organizations.
